Senior Editor - Malcolm Smith

Malcolm Smith began his professional career as a teacher of remedial English, ESL, and composition before entering the world of online writing and editing. He began as a freelance writer for various poker and casino websites as well as several financial and real estate sites. Malcolm is thrilled to now find himself in the role of Senior Editor of the Cake Blog and is proud to work alongside such a seasoned team of writers.

Junior Editor - Jessica Anderson

After graduating with a degree in English, Jessica went to work for the Deparment of Agriculture in New Jersey. After discovering a love for poker, Jessica decided to focus her time entirely on her two passions, playing tournament poker and writing. Now, as the Junior Editor of the Cake Blog, she is finally able to combine her two passions.

Writer - Lee Jones

Lee Jones has become one of the most recognizable names (and faces) in the “new” poker industry. He became involved in commercial poker over 20 years ago, starting his career as an amateur player at the Garden City and Bay 101 poker clubs in San Jose, California. In 1994, he wrote Winning Low Limit Hold’em, one of the first books written specifically for new hold’em players. It is in its third edition now, and is still considered one of the important primers for hold'em novices.

In the late 1980’s, Lee began writing for Card Player magazine, and he did regular articles for them for almost 20 years. Since then he has been a regular contributor to Bluff magazine.

In 2003, Lee was named poker room manager for PokerStars. While there, he became a household name for poker players through his posts on poker forums, emails to players, appearances at live events, and hosting online tournaments. It was there that Lee cemented his reputation for fairness and integrity, often dealing with highly charged and sensitive public issues.

Lee spent a year as the executive host on the European Poker Tour, then returned to the United States and worked for CardRunners – the largest poker video training site. In May of 2009, he joined Cake Poker as Card Room Manager and Cake Blog Writer.

Writer - Jake St. Pierre

Jake St. Pierre failed miserably as an English Professor. With late nights at the poker table and lunch hours spent writing poker articles for some of the top poker publications, he made little time for his students. Recognizing where his true passion was, Jake took a leave of absence and started his own poker blog. It was based on his work there that he was tapped to join the team working on the Cake Blog. Jake couldn’t be happier, and neither could his former students who are all thrilled to be finally receiving a proper education.

Writer - Carson Dyle

Carson Dyle is an enigma, wrapped inside a riddle surrounded by mystery. He is a proven poker expert yet he chooses to use his powers for good not evil. As a master of disguise and intrigue he easily mixes and mingles with the some the best known names of the poker world in a dedicated effort to bring true inside stories that would otherwise never be told. Carson’s favorite movie is Charade. Long considered the best Hitchcock movie that Hitchcock never made.

Writer – Kevin Hudson

Kevin Hudson is a terrible poker player. He loves the game, he just doesn’t have the patience to be good. What Hudson is good at, is photographing and covering live sporting events. Hudson’s work as a freelance contributor of poker news and his coverage of live poker tournaments is generally recognized as some of the highest quality in the poker news industry.

Writer – Dan Moore

Dan Moore is a prolific poker and casino writer and an even more prolific gambler. A lover of poker, blackjack and everything in between, Moore is just as likely to be found at the tables, as he is to be reporting on them. With six years of writing experience in the gaming industry Moore brings a wealth of experience and passion to his reporting.
