Lee Jones takes viewers through a quick demo of the new Cake Poker client.
Cake Poker is officially beginning the rollout of their highly anticipated new poker Client with a private beta.
Cake Poker Card Room Manager Lee Jones has been a major force in moving the client to beta stage and has stated that, “We are excited to launch the private beta for our new Cake Poker client and to get
some further feedback on our efforts. We are delighted at the how the client is currently operating and looking forward to being able to offer an improved online poker experience to all our players.”
Some of the key features of the new poker software include:
• Main lobby stretches both horizontally and vertically
• Excel-like multi-field sorting and advanced filtering for detailed game/tournament choice
• Tournament listing permits direct registration
• Tournament lobby includes links to satellites
• Tables scale down to “industry standard” minimum size
• Chat box detaches for management as a separate window
• Players can customize card backs, table felt, and “carpet”.
• Tournament notifier allows players to filter out any/all tournament notices.
• Players can put upcoming tournaments on calendar to be reminded later.
Production of the new poker client saw Cake’s software developers consult with both cash and tournament players as part of a rigorous process of review and debugging. Cake is currently working through a private beta which, once complete, will allow for the launch the public beta. That public beta will be available to all players in parallel with the existing client for a period of time. Throughout the user testing Cake will continue to incorporate player feedback into the new client.
