No matter whether your game of choice is online poker, or live action, there's still something magical about playing in Las Vegas. If you've never tried it, you should. And if you have, odds are you regularly scan the travel websites regularly to scope out the latest Vegas package deals. And as of Wednesday, there's yet another new reason to book a trip. The newest poker room in Vegas just opened, and it's right in the middle of the hottest part of the Strip.
The room is at Aria, a 4,004 room mega-hotel that's part of the new Vegas CityCenter complex. Other properties in CityCenter opened earlier this month, and some will be opening their doors in the next few weeks. But the ribbon has been cut at Aria, and it's 24 table poker room. Earlier predictions had the room pegged at from 12-20 tables. But despite the fact that visitors to the city have dropped off lately due to the recession, the new hotel's management must be confident they'll be able to regularly fill their 24 tables. The location is prime, right in the heart of the Strip beside the Bellagio, and the thousands of rooms at CityCenter should ensure even more players than usual in that part of Vegas.
Aria's poker room will feature a mix of levels, so both high and low-ish rollers should be happy. And they'll have a daily 11am tournament for those rare visitors to Vegas who are somehow able to be up and functional at that time.
