For Windows Mobile 5 devices, you may first need to install Microsoft's .NET Compact Framework which can be found here at no cost. We will be adding Blackberry and Symbian versions soon.

Are you planning to support other types of devices?

We will add support for additional mobile devices (including Blackberry and Symbian) with future releases of Cake Poker Mobile.

What else does my mobile device need in order to play?

Cake Poker Mobile requires a connection to the World Wide Web directly from your phone to download the Cake Poker Mobile client and in order to play. Just like the desktop version of Cake Poker, you can play online via your device's network connection. Examples of possible connectivity options include: a 2G or 3G connection via your mobile provider's data plan, a WiFi connection, Bluetooth, or even a cabled direct link to your PC. Once your device can surf the web, it's ready for your to play Cake Poker!

How does Cake Poker Mobile connect me to other players from around the world?

Cake Poker Mobile uses MobileBridge™, a proprietary* middleware system that connects mobile devices to server systems using only industry standard HTTP(S). *Patent Pending.

What happens if my phone rings while I'm playing?

The answer is device dependent. Some devices can support a data connection and a simultaneous voice connection. On other devices, when a call comes in, all data connections are dropped. Either way, unless the call is taken and lasts less than 20-30 seconds, the player will time out at the poker table, have their hand check-folded just like timing out on the PC client, and then become marked as sitting out. Also, there are third-party utilities you can install on your phone to block incoming calls and SMS text messages.

Which tables can I join using Cake Poker Mobile?

Both real money and play money hold'em ring games are available to Cake Poker Mobile users in fixed limit, pot limit, and no limit structures.

Can I deposit and cash out using Cake Poker Mobile?

Currently, you must use the PC version of Cake Poker to access the cashier and make deposits and withdrawals.

How can I play my position with Cake Poker Mobile?

Your seat at the table does not change based on the hiding of players that fold during a hand. To minimize scrolling, players that fold or are sitting out are removed from view. A soon to be released version of Cake Poker Mobile will give you the option to prevent the hiding of any players seated at the table. For those players with larger screens (especially when run in landscape mode), this yields the equivalent of a top-down view of the game table as there will be no scrolling and no hiding of any players seated at the table.

A more traditional, fixed circular, top-down view is planned for a future release that more closely resembles the game table view of the PC client. With the current scrolling view, the action at the table is from left to right starting with the player to the right of the dealer button, with your position at the table following the right-most player (imagine sitting across a table where all of your opponents are opposite you). Also, the dealer button moves from left to right (clockwise). During play, as players fold out of the hand, their avatars are hidden so you can focus on who remains at the table. It may take a few hands in order to adjust to the mobile user interface, but you can still play position.

Will I be rewarded on Cake Mobile as I am on Cake Poker?

Absolutely. Cake Poker and Cake Poker Mobile offer a seamless connection so you can continue earning Cake Rewards, including Gold Chips and Gold Cards, from wherever you choose to play. There is no difference between real money raked hands played on our mobile client, and real money raked hands played on a PC.

Are there extra costs for using Cake Poker Mobile?

Your wireless operator might charge you for data transfer between your handset and the Cake servers. Because of its highly interactive nature, Cake Poker Mobile can transfer tens of megabytes per hour of game play. Usage varies greatly depending on the type of table at which you are playing (e.g., how many players are seated at the table, how many hands per hour are played at the table, etc.). For example, playing at a table averaging six opponents for one hour transfers approximately 5 megabytes. Your operator might also charge you for the download of the Cake Poker Mobile software. We strong suggest contracting your operator to make sure you have an appropriate data plan as you are responsible for all carrier network charges.

What happens if I lose network coverage?

The Cake Poker Mobile software will continuously attempt to reconnect during the outage and if the connection is restored quickly, game play continues as normal although you may see several game "events" occur in rapid succession as your device updates itself to the current state of the game. However, unless the network is restored within a reasonably short timeframe, your current hand will be check/folded just as if you had failed to act in a timely fashion using the Cake Poker PC client. You will then be marked as sitting out and eventually removed from the table.

Is Cake Poker Mobile as secure as the PC Cake Poker client?

Yes. In fact, since your account password is not stored on your phone, even if your phone is lost, your account information remains secure.

I am not able to download Cake Poker Mobile. Any hints?

Ensure that your mobile device has an active web connection and can successfully browse to other common websites. If that is the case and you still cannot download Cake Poker Mobile to your device, please  us our Cake Poker Support Team at support@cakepoker.com.

I am not able to find the Cake Poker Mobile shortcut on my Windows Device. Where is it?

Cake Poker Mobile is installed directly into the main programs group. On some Windows Mobile devices this group is found by selecting the Start soft-key option from the home screen. On other devices you may need to select Start and then Programs from the drop-down menu. As there are likely several programs installed on your device, you may need to scroll down until the Cake Poker icon is visible. After you run Cake Poker Mobile for the first time, a shortcut will likely appear on the home screen which can allow you to quickly launch the application. Note that Windows Mobile controls which shortcuts appear on the home screen based on how recently an application was used.

My device is supported, but Cake Poker Mobile does not work. What now?

Please contact support for troubleshooting.

How do I know I have the latest version of Cake Poker Mobile?

Cake Poker Mobile automatically updates itself when we release new versions.
